Cllr Vicky Ball
Committees:- Project & Grounds, Staffing & Events, Remembrance Sunday Sub-Committee.
Bio:- I am a retired primary school teacher who spent my career working with wonderful children in Leicester inner city schools. I have lived in Anstey for over 40 years. Both my children have grown up in the village and, since their birth, I have been involved in village life. I attended NCT (National Childbirth Trust) coffee mornings, a godsend to a brand-new mum who didn't know a soul, and eventually took over the organising of them. I then became secretary of the Wolden Hill Association, joined the Scout Committee, was a founding member of Anstey Community Action before becoming a parish councillor in 1999. I am also a Trustee of Anstey Town Charity and I have been its secretary for several years.
The role of parish councillor is very rewarding and I enjoy being part of the ideas and decision making processes that help to shape our village for the benefit of its residents. I currently serve on several committees: Project and Grounds, Staffing and Events. I have been the Chair of the latter for the past ten years; the committee responsible for the Christmas lights, the hanging baskets, the Blossomfest, the party for the Queen's Jubilee and the King's coronation, the Winter Event and much, much more.
Finally, more widely, I am a parish representative on the Member Conduct Committee at Charnwood Borough Council.
