Cllr Kathy Peake
Committees:- Grievance, Events Finance & Projects & Grounds.
Bio:- I have lived in Anstey since 1986 and I feel very passionate about our village. I believe that the enormous range of amenities we are fortunate to have ensures that our village is a vibrant, lively and hard-working community and I am proud to be a part of it.
I am delighted to have been able to join Anstey Parish Council in 2019 and find the role of Anstey Parish Councillor extremely rewarding, enjoying participating in Full Council, Events, Projects and Grounds and Finance committee meetings, hoping to make decisions for the benefit of residents, business and in all areas of community life. I believe the additional new hall project completed last year, events such as Queens Jubilee and Kings Coronation, Christmas Celebrations, Remembrance Sunday, Yard Sale, upkeep and purchase of park equipment, grounds maintenance, are all essential in keeping our community together in a way that we cannot achieve individually. Our support to many other social groups in the community also enables everyone to enjoy a variety of activities, to support each other, to socialise, play sport, keep fit and follow hobbies, creating a wonderful place to live with our families and friends of all ages.
My work experience in policy, analysis and evaluation ensures that I have a good understanding of the importance of achieving community facilities within agreed budgets and achieve successful outcomes and outstanding value for all of us in Anstey to enjoy.
I have worked successfully exporting goods all over the world, before becoming a mum to two children. I have spent time working for local large companies in sales and insurance. I then found my working vocation successfully working as a school attendance/welfare officer for almost 20 years and additionally working as clerk to the governing body for 9 of those years too. During this time, I achieved my BA Hons Degree in Childhood and Youth Studies which has equipped me with further academic skills to offer support and understanding in the importance of community life for all and working together with support groups and outside agencies.
I look forward to continuing to volunteer to support each other as an Anstey Parish Councillor for the remainder of my second full term and look forward to us being able to continue to deliver successful projects, events, maintenance of grounds, and that residents will feel they are getting outstanding value for their precept and know how important they are in our community. I thank all those who have supported me to become a Parish Councillor
